ECC Junior Events

Kids’Interviews

Usually full day events (7 hrs. of work). Saturdays, Sundays and National Holidays (Jan - Mar)

 

Kids Interviews are designed to test ECC Junior students on their English speaking and comprehension abilities. Native English Teachers ask students series of questions and a Japanese Examiner evaluates the responses.

Kids Festivals

Usually full day events (7 hrs. of work). Saturdays, Sundays and National Holidays (June - July)

 

Designed to provide ECC Junior students with an enjoyable opportunity to interact with a native English speaker. Native English Teachers lead groups of students in games and songs.

Special Assignments

Usually on Saturdays, Sundays and National Holidays at various times.
(Ongoing events with peak periods during Halloween, Christmas and Easter seasons)

 

Native English Teachers work closely with Home Teachers and lead these events by following a curriculum of games. Other duties may include singing songs, watching student recitations, and talking about home countries.

Speech Contests

Usually on Saturdays, Sundays and National Holidays at various times.
(Ongoing events with a peak period in September)

 

A very formal event designed to provide ECC Junior students with an opportunity to be graded on pronunciation, intonation, and other facets of English speaking. The Native English Teacher evaluates, judges, and provides constructive criticism about the students’ speeches. Leading a large group in a simple game and talking about home countries may be required.
